Jaguar: English for Luxury

Last updated 6 years ago

Recognized for refinement, performance, and class, Jaguar automobiles have long been ideal cars for those looking for a unique luxury experience. To find out more about the history of Jaguar vehicles and some of the most popular used Jaguar models, continue reading.

Jaguar History

Born in Great Britain, Jaguar’s reputation for luxury and performance has been felt around the world since the 1930s. When Jaguar automobiles first made their way to U.S. shores in 1951, Americans instantly loved them for their British refinement and sporty appeal. The E-type was particularly popular throughout the 1960s, as it offered Americans a slice of British culture that had been made popular by bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

Jaguar S-Type

Drawing from 1960s Jaguar style, the four-door S-Type was initially offered with your choice of a 240-horsepower V6 or a 300-horsepower V8. The suspension of the S-Type was known for providing exceptional comfort, while still allowing the driver to sail through a sharp turn with sports-car confidence.

Jaguar XF

Replacing the Jaguar S-Type in 2009 was the Jaguar XF, a four-door car that offered a sleek exterior update. Car-lovers commonly regard the Jaguar XF as reminiscent of the classic style of a Jaguar coupe, with the power of a 21st century sports car. You can get a used Jaguar XF with a 300-hp V8, a supercharged 420-hp V8, or a 385-hp V8.

Jaguar XJ8

For over 40 years, Jaguar’s flagship luxury car has been the Jaguar XJ. The used Jaguar XJ8 offers a slew of luxury features, including a 300-horsepower V8, a six-speed automatic with the classic J-gate shifter, a refined interior with wood trim, plush leather, and chrome accents abound.
