Tips for Maintaining Your Luxury Car's Interior

Last updated 5 years ago

If cared for meticulously, luxury cars from Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Land Rover will look and drive like new for many years and miles. One area that many luxury car owners forget about, however, is the interior. For a list of tips that will help you maintain your luxury car’s interior, read the following article:

Caring For the Seats

To make sure dirt, debris, and other materials aren’t pressed into the car seats, it’s important to clean up spills as soon as they occur. Buy a portable vacuum that you can use on the seats whenever they get dirty. Use a damp cloth for the seats if they are made of fabric. If you have leather seats, use a special leather cleaner and conditioner recommended by your local car dealer or car detailing shop.

Clean the Dashboard and Steering Wheel

Today’s luxury cars often feature steering wheels made of leather and wood. To clean the leather on the steering wheel, use the same leather cleaner and conditioner that you use for your seats. To clean the wood part of your steering wheel, visit a car detailer and ask them if they can recommend a product for you.

Shampoo the Carpets

Many luxury cars come with soft carpet mats that protect the original carpet of the interior. After a month of use, the mats can become quite dirty. To clean them, use a carpet shampoo. If you have access to a hose, it might help to spray the mats first to loosen any caked-on debris. Make sure the mats are completely or nearly dry before you put them back in your vehicle.
